Once upon a time in Grand Rapids, there was a venue that did exclusively $5-10 all-ages emo/screamo shows with the world's jankiest basement stage & a bathroom enclosed into the corner of the moshpit, and it was called The Mixtape Cafe & life was good.

Then, in 2010, they moved from the janky shitty space to a warehouse down the road with real bathrooms, and rebranded as MXTP, and then by January 2012 they were gone.

J.R. made a bunch of these shirts when they announced the closure & when I came to say goodbye at one of their last shows he gave me one and THAT was the big reveal moment when the Mixtape people found out that my gay ass had been driving from Detroit for shows there for four years. lmao.
