Rather Crucify Than Learn

Description
Imagine, if you will, one of those 8-page fold-out minizines. Now, scale that up in your head until it's TWO HUNDRED PERCENT THE SIZE and there's this beast of a so-called "mini".
Rather Crucify Than Learn is a look at twitter genre warfare & overall social media toxicity at the intersection of safety & identity in two maligned/misunderstood genres of outcasts--hip hop & heavy metal. Katie uses the social media discourse surrounding the 2021 AstroWorld festival deaths & a series of sexual abuse allegations against a number of rock acts as a jumping-off point to talk about trauma & the lack of social support when this kind of tragic shit comes down the pipe.
Valuable work, produced to get more of our voices into academia but still written in a down-to-earth way. This one's vital for anybody trying to navigate the shitstorm of music fanculture on social media.
This zine is 8 pages, quarter size (4.25 x 5.5"), and unfolds into an 11 x 17" center to continue the conversation, so...more like 16 pages quarter size?? Collaged, a combo of typed & handwritten, and printed with love. By Katie Tinch.
